چکیده

One of the major advantages of stencil lithography is the possibility to use stencils many times. However, when stencils contain nanoapertures, the clogging of the membranes limits the useful life time of the stencils. The clogging is due to the accumulation of material deposited inside the apertures of the stencil. Here, we report a study on the effect of the clogging on the life time of stencils after Al depositions through the stencils. Then we present a method to clean the stencils based on Al wet etching to eliminate the clogging. We show that this method allows the reusability of stencils for the repeatable depositions of Al nanostructures. 2008 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Fabrication and Optical Characterization of Silicon Nanostructure Arrays by Laser Interference Lithography and Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching

In this paper metal-assisted chemical etching has been applied to pattern porous silicon regions and silicon nanohole arrays in submicron period simply by using positive photoresist as a mask layer. In order to define silicon nanostructures, Metal-assisted chemical etching (MaCE) was carried out with silver catalyst. Provided solution (or materiel) in combination with laser interference lithogr...

Patterning PDMS using a combination of wet and dry etching

PDMS films of 10 μm thickness can be patterned within 30 min by combining dry etching to achieve substantially vertical sidewalls with wet etching to achieve high etch rates and to protect the underlying substrate from attack. Dry etching alone would have taken 5 h, and wet etching alone would produce severe undercutting. In addition, using either technique alone produces undesirable surface mo...

Surface Nanostructures Formed by Phase Separation of Metal Salt–Polymer Nanocomposite Film for Anti-reflection and Super-hydrophobic Applications

This paper describes a simple and low-cost fabrication method for multi-functional nanostructures with outstanding anti-reflective and super-hydrophobic properties. Our method employed phase separation of a metal salt-polymer nanocomposite film that leads to nanoisland formation after etching away the polymer matrix, and the metal salt island can then be utilized as a hard mask for dry etching ...

Atomic force microscope based nanofabrication of master pattern molds for use in soft lithography

The authors have developed a technique that couples nanolithographic patterning using an atomic force microscope with the parallel patterning abilities of soft lithography. Master pattern generation is accomplished using local anodic oxidation as a mask pattern for anisotropic wet etching of Si 110 . The resulting nanostructures are then used as master patterns for the molding of polymeric stam...

Nondestructive nanofabrication on Si(100) surface by tribochemistry-induced selective etching

A tribochemistry-induced selective etching approach is proposed for the first time to produce silicon nanostructures without lattice damage. With a ~1 nm thick SiOx film as etching mask grown on Si(100) surface (Si(100)/SiOx) by wet-oxidation technique, nano-trenches can be produced through the removal of local SiOx mask by a SiO2 tip in humid air and the post-etching of the exposed Si in potas...
